Today was a tricky one as the wind as a bit north of west and the tide was high at 12.15, which made Hayling sea front a goer for a later sesh, with Esso an earlier spot. The alternative was Hillhead which would be good all day. I was still undecided at the Hayling turnoff and did a quick swerve for the Hayling option at the last minute.

Long story short, everybody was on 5.7 type stuff on arrival at Esso, and it was obviously fully NW. Undaunted and determined to get a wave board session in I rigged the 4.7 and Rip combo and hit the water planing. A very gusty and tricky but fun session followed. I came off the water at nearly 3 and was pretty knackered and had cut my toe in two places so decided that would do for the day.

Pretty happy with the day despite demanding and very gusty conditions. On a couple of occasions I just couldn't bear away for a gybe. Ok, my problem in the end but it was so tricky. I'll give it four cause the light was so good.
